Nairobi, Kenya – September 23, 2024 – The Forum for African Women Educationalists – Kenya Chapter (FAWEK) will now sponsor the Gender Inclusion category at the upcoming NGOs Awards, scheduled to take place on November 29th, 2024. These prestigious awards will recognize and celebrate the outstanding efforts of organizations that have made significant strides in advancing gender equality and inclusivity across various sectors in Kenya.

FAWEK, a leading organization championing education and empowerment for women and girls across the country, is committed to fostering inclusive practices that ensure no one is left behind in the pursuit of educational and economic opportunities. By sponsoring the Gender Inclusion Award, FAWEK seeks to highlight the importance of gender equity and to inspire more organizations to adopt policies and programs that break down barriers.

“We are thrilled to sponsor the Gender Inclusion Award at the 2024 NGOs Awards. At FAWEK, we believe that inclusive policies and practices are key to building a more equitable society, and we look forward to celebrating the incredible work that organizations in Kenya are doing to advance gender equality,” said Jeanette Valarie Nyanjom, Chief Executive Officer of FAWEK. She was speaking during a ceremony to sign the partnership between FAWEK and Awesome Concepts Limited, the organizers of the NGOs Awards.

The Gender Inclusion Award category honours organizations that promote gender equality, support marginalized groups, and support advocacy and educational campaigns. This category will also measure the impact on policy and social norms.

“Organisations will be evaluated on the impact their programs have on gender equality, their sustainability and replicability, and the level at which they involved the community,” said Hilda Muthoni from Awesome Concepts.

The awards are generously sponsored by leading organizations such as the Public Benefit Organizations Regulatory Authority, Kenya Yearbook, CIHEB Africa, Bonfire Adventures, Qatar Airways, Plan International, World Relief, Reel Informatics and Awesome Concepts Limited.

The much-anticipated NGOs Awards 2024 are set to take place on November 29th in Nairobi, bringing together the finest non-governmental organizations, journalists, celebrities, donors, public benefit initiatives and community champions across Kenya.

Nominations for the inaugural NGOs Awards opened today and will run through September 30th, 2024.  Organizations and individuals can log in to www.ngosawards.com to nominate themselves or nominate others.
