The Just Energy Transition: Localisation, Decent Work, SMMEs, and Sustainable Livelihoods project is calling for research proposals from Kenya and Ghana.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Just Energy Transition project aims to generate policy changes that promote the localisation of renewable energy value chains, while advocating for decent work, gender equity, and sustainable livelihoods.

The transition to low-carbon and climate-resilient economies presents both risks and opportunities. The project focuses on mitigating risks and empowering countries in the Global South to seize and capitalise on the opportunities.

Through research, advocacy, and policy engagement, the project aims to pave the way for a just and sustainable future.

INITIAL FOCUS ON AFRICAN COUNTRIES INITIATING WORK IN SOUTH AFRICA, KENYA, AND GHANA

The project’s work will begin in three African countries: South Africa, Kenya, and Ghana. By examining existing dynamics and development opportunities, it will aim to advance concrete policy proposals.
